Why did my quail grow the way it did?

For my biology class we did an experiment in which we had to keep a pet quail for a month and measure it and study how it grew. My quails growth rose pretty gradually through most of the experiment but towards the end the amount it grew everyday began to level off. i was wondering if anyone could please it explain why this happened. thank you:)
