How to calm a lonely chick?

quail chick in a tub under heat lamp by itself as second one died last night. how can i calm it down cause its panicking so bad cause it cant get out the tub and cant seee the other chick? i have a fluffly thing in with it to snuggle to and a cave and it doesnt calm down if i pick it up?
